Whether you are a travel nurse or an educator, a construction worker or a diplomat, are you happy with your life?
Before Christmas I talked about how likely you were to get a raise this year. I want to talk about another job-related issue to close out the year…
Dan Schawbel has suggested three questions that we should all ask ourselves before the year ends. They're simple questions – but profound.
First, Dan suggests that you ask yourself whether you're committed to your current career path for the rest of your life. If you're a nurse, is that what you want to be for the next 35 or 40 years? Do you want to be an educator, a sales manager, a police officer, or whatever your doing now for as long as you work? Distinguish your job from your career. Where will you be in a decade? If it's not where you want to be, you need to start thinking about how to change the path you're headed down now.
Dan's second question has to do with winning a million dollars. And rather than steal all his thunder, I'll let you read the details of that (and find out what his third question is) here…
