SocialPicks Great for Braggy Investors
Back in October I wrote about Motley Fool CAPS, a stock picking community that Motley Fool had just introduced. (Here are my awesome picks from back then---I'm still in the top 10%of players even without lifting a finger.)

I found out about a similar site recently called SocialPicks, which you might also enjoy if you find stock-picking fun, and especially if you think it's fun to give an 'in your face!" to other stock pickers that couldn't hold your jock strap (or girdle as the case may be).

It's the same basic premise as CAPS. You set up a mock portfolio (or maybe your real portfolio if you choose) and then you can compare how your picks do to others in the community, as well as comparing yourself against investing heavyweights like Warren Buffett and Legg Mason's Bill Miller. (It's not clear to me if these guys have some affiliation with the site or if SocialPicks is just tracking their portfolios via public data; I think it's the latter, although I would think these guys might be a bit upset that their pictures are being used as if they are part of the site's community.)

In addition, you can make your case for why some stocks are primed for an upswing and you can check out the tips of others who might know about a hot stock that you're unaware of.

If you're an active investor or just a hobbyist who likes to try to predict the market, SocialPicks may be up your alley.
