Saving Money with Credit Cards
Filed in archive Saving by Mike Valles on February 23, 2009
Another way to save some money is to use rewards credit cards. However, to keep the record straight, it is not a good idea to charge anything on a credit card if you are having a cash flow problem. The best way to use a credit card is to pay it off each month. This can keep you from paying any interest and it will also keep you out of debt.

The reason that rewards credit cards can benefit you is because they give you back a portion of your purchases - generally between 1 and 5%. This means that your actual cost is reduced even more.

This works best when you have a rewards credit card that will reward you for those things that you normally purchase the most of. An example would be if you traveled a lot for your business, and purchased a lot of gas, and used hotels and restaurants, too. If this is the case, then you would want either a gas credit card, or a driver's credit card because they would give you the highest amount of savings.

Remember, though, that if you do not pay it off when each bill comes, then the interest rate will nearly destroy any savings that you get. Saving money, in this case, only is given to those who are diligent with their money and pay their debts on time.
