Save Money on Hotels by Getting Special Discounts

When you travel, you have to stay somewhere - but you don't have to pay the highest price for your hotel rooms. You can save money by finding discounts for hotels. Here are a few ways to get your discount hotel rooms.

An excellent way to find affordable hotels is to go online and get one through an online service such as Priceline or Orbitz. These will help you get excellent deals, but you will have to make your discount hotel reservation in advance. Sometimes, the farther in advance you reserve your room, the greater your savings will be.

You can get special travel deals, too, if you go with hotel chains and look for special deals. These will often give you one night free when you choose to stay and buy a three-or four-day ticket in a travel package.

Another way - if you did not have a chance to get a reservation - is to find a coupon book. These will be in visitor centers for the state, at local convenience marts, and grocery stores. Hotels may also have them in their lobby, too. These may give you as much as 10% or more off on a single night.

You can also save money by getting a card from one of the hotel chains. These can entitle you to get a free room after you purchase 10 nights - or some similar arrangement.

Some credit cards can also give you a hotel discount. Generally, your greatest discount will apply only to certain hotels, although you may get a little discount for any of them.

For the best rates ever, travel during the off-season months - after Labor Day and before Memorial Day. Avoid the holidays, too. During the off-season, rooms will be about 2/3 of the price - or even less - which means a good way to save money for you.
