Save Money on Groceries by Using All Your Food
© bucklava

In most homes, it is rare that everything is eaten with each meal – unless you simply are not serving enough food. Generally, you will have some of this and some of that left over. While it may be tempting to throw out these small portions, you can save money on your grocery bill if you simply throw it together into a new dish. Call it a stew, a casserole or a soup if you want, but by making another dish out if it, you will save more money on groceries.

Another way to make it more appetizing would be to add some noodles, possibly some onion or garlic, and turn it into a spaghetti or pasta dish of some kind. These can take a lot of odds and ends – and still taste good. After all, saving money does not have to mean a loss of good tasting food.

  1. Another tip to finishing your food is to buy smaller portions at the store.

Most of us have those warehouse club memberships where we can buy 20 gallons of whipped cream for $5. While we think that we’re saving money, (I never have to buy whipped cream again!) most of the time we eat it for a week straight, get sick of it, and then it spoils.

Save money by buying smaller portions.
