Sanity, Glenn Beck, and Silver Commodities

Is Glenn Beck an idiot? Personally, I happen to think that's a pretty easy question to answer. Yes, he is.
If you're not familiar with Glenn Beck (is that possible?), he's the Fox News talk show host who rants and yells about the world coming to an end and how President Obama is a Socialist who was born in Africa. Beck make Bill O'Reilly sound somewhat moderate and Rush sound like a vaguely reasonable person.
Everybody gets lucky sometime. Beck got lucky on silver. He evident told people to start buying silver commodities a while back and, well, shortly after that the government of China encouraged its citizens to buy silver. You probably know that there are a whole mess of people in China. So silver prices went up. A lot.
Does that make Beck smart? I remember the scene in Mel Gibson's Conspiracy Theory movie where one of his schizophrenic conspiracies turned out to be true (even though the other three dozen theories he had just proved he was schizophrenic). Beck got lucky…
Robert C. Byrd thinks a country should be named after Beck. Senator Byrd recently chastised a newspaper in his state by telling them that an editorial they wrote sounded like "Barkings from the nether reaches of GlennBeckistan."
You don't have to stop making fun of him just because he was right once…
