Get Rich Slick:
Yahoo has this story about how NOT watching TV can save you a million dollars. I'm writing this to counter that argument and illustrate how you could possibly earn $1 million with a TV...
Retiring Early:
I came to the realization the other day that I have more savings than my parents - seems kind of obvious, but it never really sunk in. After all, how is it possible that someone in their mid-30's has saved more money than their parents in their mid-60's?! Looking at the numbers, it's shocking: I have 3x more saved than they do.
Mapgirl:
I love thrift stores. I love garage sales. I love recycling things or re-purposing them. I treasure old things. That means I still have a phone in the house with a brass bell because I love the sound of that ring. I have my old Sony Dreamcube from high school as my alarm clock because it still works. Who cares if the plastic has turned a disgusting yellow? It still keeps time, wakes me up and gets the local NPR station.
Grad Money Matters:
We eat at home and are good at avoiding impulse buys for a period of time and then slowly the frugal fatigue sets in. Some arcane desire in me triggers off the itch to start spending again.
