Of note:
1. Big buyout at The Washington Post, with many accomplished writers getting attractive early retirement deals, including favorites like consumer reporter Caroline Mayer and financial columnist Albert Crenshaw. Mayer has her sendoff post on her blog today (although she's not officially quitting the blog as of yet) and Crenshaw summed up the many things he's learned in the money game this past Sunday. I'll be sorry to see them go.
2. If you tithe via credit card, what do you put in the collection plate?
3. gulf is working on selling gas debit cards that let you lock in current gas prices to hedge against later increases.
4. Minorities are getting charged higher rates on mortgage loans--even if they have the same financial backgrounds as whites.
5. Low-income families can now have their Earned Income Tax Credits spread throughout the year instead of just one lump at tax time.
6. More convincing reasons to start retirement savings early--check out the percentage of your incomes you'd need to save in each decade of your life to meet retirement needs.
7. He says worst parenting ever, I say every child deserves a spoiling every once in a while.
8. Not feasible for everyone, but see how one couple saves money by moving their bedroom with the change of seasons.
