Off-Topic Friday: Things I’ve Stolen
Posted by admin in General

I would hazard to guess, that at some point in your life, you've stolen something. Few are immune to the five finger discount. No one should be proud of it; I'm not. But it's part of who we are, so let's consider this a therapy session. I'll show you mine if you show me yours…
Things I've stolen:
1. My brother used to have a paper route and I would steal from a bowl of change he had in his room. For a while I got by on saying "I found it" when asked where I got a dime or nickel. When I started taking half dollars, I was busted.
2. I once found an opened bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and ate quite a few of them. In today's world, this would be seen as highly dangerous behavior. Back then, highly tasty.
3. In college, my friend and I stole a big plastic rug from the entrance to our local Arby's and put it on the floor of our dorm room.
4. I stole some of my sister's baseball cards. She didn't care about baseball cards, but would buy some and keep the good ones that I didn't have around just to make me jealous. I eventually took them.
5. I took The Teachings of Buddha out of a hotel in Hawaii and a Gideon Bible out of a hotel somewhere else. I'd never read either one. I thought they were free for the interested; my wife says this was stealing. I'm not sure. Your thoughts?
I haven't stolen much since I became a real adult, which I consider to be post-college. I did steal a kiss from my daughter the other day when she first opened her eyes in the morning. She said I needed to shave.
Fess up. What have you stolen?
