My Stupidest Money Decisions

Today we have Justin joining us here at Money Dumbos for the first time. I hope you'll all welcome Justin and help him make his way to the first step in our twelve-step program. Can we all tell Justin what that first step is?

[Admitting your stupidity.]

Very good! Now let's give Justin the floor…

My name is Justin and I've been stupid with my money.

[Hi Justin]

When WorldCom's stock price was falling during allegations of cooking the books, I bought more WorldCom stock than I already owned, thinking it was a market overreaction and that a company of that size couldn't just go kablooey.

[Oooooooh...]

I once sent $9 to someone in a get rich scheme in which they promised to tell me how I could make tons of money guaranteed. The scheme was that I should get a bunch of people to send me $9, just like I'd been suckered into sending that person $9.

[Aaaah...]

I once had my car insurance rate jacked up and was too lazy to get other quotes until two years later when I found out I could've saved about $200 over that period if I'd switched…

[Wowww....]

When I bought my previous house, I didn't have a thorough roof inspection as part of the overall home inspection. That roof cost me $15,000 over the next 4 years.

[Jeez, you are dumb.]

Wait, I thought this was a support group. You're supposed to nod your heads and feel my pain.

[Sorry, Loser, you are just too stupid. You might want to try the lobotomy support group that meets on Tueday nights instead. Although from what we hear, they need another member like they need a hole in their head.]
