Money can be saved by eating at home. Then, when you make your meals, make enough so that you can have leftovers - or freeze enough for another meal at another time. Not only will this give you prepared food so that you do not need to buy fast food, it will also enable you to have more time, too.

Look for Discounts

You will save more money if you look for discounts and sales rather than buying when the urge hits. Taking time to plan when you buy certain items can help you have more money at the end of the month - and less on your credit cards, too.

Shopping online is also a good way to save money on items you need, too. There are plenty of Web sites to find deals, coupons, or discounts.

Frugal Phone Ideas

Calling home is part of college life but you do not need to pay top dollar for those calls. There are alternatives to reaching out and touching your family. One way to do this is to use online programs like Skype where there is no cost involved if you both are using it.

Another way to get free phone service is to get a plan where you get free cell phone minutes if you both have the same cellular company - such as Verizon. They give free minutes when you call from a Verizon phone to another Verizon phone. While you will have to pay the monthly charges, you will also be able to talk as long as you want - at no extra charge.
