Keystone Cops Guard Our Data

With a seemingly unending stream of stories like this and this, it appears the bad guys are heeding Willie Sutton's advice to go where the money (data) is.
We live in a digital world, bits and bytes of our lives are stored in nooks and crannies on servers all across the nation and globe. There's no putting the genie back in the bottle so be vigilant. Spend a few extra minutes going over banks accounts online or by hard copy. Double check your credit card charges. You may want to pull a credit report once in a blue moon.
Just don't think "secure server" means truly secure. The bad guys are usually one step ahead of the sheriff until they aren't. But by then the damage may have already been done to you.
