About the only way that you can know a good deal when you see one is to keep some kind of small notebook with you when you go food shopping. Of course, if you have a very good memory, you may not need to do this – but most of us need some help.

However, with food prices (and prices on everything else) constantly fluctuating, keeping a small notebook with items you regularly buy and the price is a good way to identify a great deal. Taking a minute to check in your notebook will verify that you can save money on that item.
