I Kinda Like Working

Hard to believe, huh? I'm a little surprised myself. But lately things have been good on the work front, and when that happens I sometimes am more excited to keep the ball rolling than I am to take a break. The weekend actually feels like a hassle.
Although I technically work for others, my job is almost completely self-directed, my hours are up to me, and my pay is at least partially tied
to my success, so it still feels very entrepreneurial. And, that being the case, I'm more interested in working right now than taking time off. If I tell my family I have to work this weekend, I'd be lying. If I tell them I want to work this weekend, that's not going to fly. So I won't work. Let's keep it our little secret that I'm going to wish I was working, OK?
I'm generally not a workaholic, and I don't believe in skipping vacations, and, yes, I know I won't be on my deathbed wishing I had worked more instead of spending time with my family. Nevertheless, sometimes work can actually leave you energized, and it can actually seem as appealing, if not more so, than other ways you might spend your time. Not often, but sometimes.
Maybe I'll sneak in a little work on Monday. Would that be so wrong?
Enjoy your Labor Day weekend--do what makes you happy, even if other people think you're crazy.
