Via Spending Smart today I learned of a cool money-saving idea that is also darn smart marketing:

Paradies Shops, which runs those airport stores where you can pick up books, magazines, Fruit Stripe gum, etc., will give you 50% of your money back on any book you buy at one of their shops and later return to any of their other shops, through their Read and Return program:

Buy a book in Hartford, get half your money back in San Francisco

First introduced in 2003, the Read & Return Program has become a hallmark of the Paradies brand. Offered at all Paradies Shops that sell books, the program allows travelers to:

* Buy a book
* Read it
* Return it within six months of purchase
* Receive 50% of your purchase price back!

Pretty cool, especially for the frequent traveler.
