Extras You Can Get With A Good Credit Score

Does it really pay to have to a good credit score?
Yes, it does. If you have a credit score of 700 and above, chances are you can earn a few extra stuff other people will have to spend extra money for.
1. Lower rent. The only thing most landlords really care about is your ability to pay the rent. If you have a documented history of being able to pay everything on time, your landlord should be willing to make a good deal with you. If you have a good credit score, check if rent rates are falling in your area and then use that score to negotiate how much you're going to have to pay your future landlord.
2. Cheaper insurance. A good credit score is often taken as a proof of better behavior on your part. Insurance brokers tend to associate good credit scores with less risky behavior. Use it to get discounted insurance rates from your local broker.
3. 0% Balance transfer. Many credit card issuers use interest-free balance transfers to attract new client with good to excellent credit scores. That's being able to borrow money for six to twelve months at no interest!

Totally agree that good credit is important. Your idea of negotiating with landlords for a better deal is a good one. That could be extended to negotiating with any provider with a risk factor in the price, so it would be worth asking about with any significant purchase.
