Here are some more money saving tips for college:

Learn to Cook

If you are able to cook while you are going to school, this can be another great way to save a lot of money. Instead of ordering delivered food, or fast food, cooking it yourself will be much cheaper. In addition to learning cooking skills, though, you will also need to learn how to shop for groceries in order to save money there, too. You can find plenty of tips from looking at earlier posts on this blog.

Stay Away from Delivered Foods

Every time you order a delivery, you are paying extra money in tips and other charges. After a few deliveries, this really adds up. Even if you bought frozen pizzas – you would save money.

Speaking about pizza, if you really feel you need fast food every now and then, don't forget that pizza shops often have discount days when it is cheaper. Buy other food when it is on sale, too.

Make Your Own Coffee

Buying your coffee at fast food places (or at those special coffee shops) will cost you a lot of money when you do it again and again. A simpler way is to make your coffee at home and then take it with you. In some places, you could buy a can of coffee for less than what one cup will cost you.

Many more small steps will lead to considerable savings. Have a look at these.

Take advantage of bank technology. Consider automatic payroll deductions or automatic transfer from checking to savings. Avoid temptation and arrange to have a specific amount transferred to your savings account every pay period.

Pay your bills on time and pay more than the minimum amount. Although 97 percent of Americans pay their bills on time, some consumers find themselves paying late fees. Alleviate the hassle by scheduling time once a month to pay bills, and put them in the mail with enough time to get to the creditor.

Determine needs versus wants. Do you need to eat out every day for lunch? Do you need that gourmet cup of coffee in the morning? By bringing your lunch to work a couple days a week, you can save hundreds of dollars a year.

Shop around. There are thousands of options for financial services products. Be selective, and get the best prices, services, convenient locations and lowest fees for credit cards, bank accounts, mortgages and CDs.

Avoid credit card debt and the accompanying finance fees. Don’t charge more on your credit card than you can pay off every month. It’s that simple.

When you go to school you and your roommates are going to use allot of toilet paper. I know a way to save more on toilet paper than any coupon or special. This covers all the bases = saves you money, helps the environment, helps your health, makes you feel better, it’s so easy to do and it costs less than $50.00; Save money and the Earth and be clean at the same time! Add Bathroom Bidet Sprayers to all your bathrooms. I think Dr. Oz on Oprah said it best: “if you had pee or poop on your hand, you wouldn’t wipe it off with paper, would you? You’d wash it off” Available at http://www.bathroomsprayers.com with these you won’t even need toilet paper any more, just a towel to dry off! Don’t worry, you can still leave some out for guests and can even make it the soft stuff without feeling guilty. It’s cheap and can be installed without a plumber; and runs off the same water line to your toilet. You’ll probably pay for it in a few months of toilet paper savings. As for water use a drought is always a concern and must be dealt with prudently but remember the water use of industrial users far exceeds the water use of household users and in the case of toilet paper manufacture it is huge. The pollution and significant power use from that manufacturing process also contributes to global warming so switching to a hand bidet sprayer and lowering your toilet paper use is very green in multiple ways.
