Avoid the Tax Rush and Save Money
© Paul Keleher

Filing taxes every year is a ritual that many people hate. Of course, most people do not like paying income taxes, but some people actually take advantage ahead of time and save money at tax time. Waiting until the last minute is apt to cause problems – and unnecessary stress – but it does not have to.

You can save money by taking a few practical steps that will help you to be ready – in advance – for taxes on April 15th.

One way to reduce your taxes and save money is to put it into a qualified retirement program, such as an IRA or 401(k). This enables you to take it off your taxes, make interest on it, and avoid paying any income tax on that interest for the year – until you take it out. Even better is if you put it into your account early in the year – then this will give you even more interest on it.
